NASHVILLE – Lipscomb women’s tennis head coach Jamie Aid has announced the promotion of Dwight Dale to associate head coach for the 2019-20 season.
Dale has been with the program since 2015, first joining the staff as a volunteer assistant before moving into an assistant coach role.
“We are very excited to announce Dwight Dale being moved into the role as associate head coach for women’s tennis,” Aid said.
“During his time with the program he has been very instrumental in helping create a culture that is based around family and hard work. The program has seen so many firsts over the past few years from players ranked to record-breaking wins.”
Since Dale’s arrival in 2015, the Lady Bisons have earned a pair of ASUN Player of the Year honors from Vika Dzyuba, along with a Freshman of the Year honor for Kate Papova, 12 All-Conference selections, five All-Freshmen honors, two All-Tournament members, 12 Players of the Week, five All-Academic nods.
“As a head coach you are always trying to make your program better, elevating Dwight into the role as associate head coach does just that,” Aid said. “I believe this will add great consistency to the program and for the players.”
In addition to the individual accolades, the squad has improved its record in each of the last two seasons, culminating in a program-best 17-6 mark last year.
“Dwight will be more active on the recruiting front as well as player development in this role,” Aid said. “As coaches, we desire the same goals for this program and have been able to be a great team ourselves. I am so excited to have Dwight in this role and even more excited for the impact this will have on our players daily.”
