Following a historic day for the Lipscomb track and field team, Gemikal Prude and Tucker Peabody were unable to follow the footsteps of teammate Madi Talbert to the NCAA Championships.
Lipscomb had two track and field athletes compete on Friday. Both of those athletes moved on in their respective event. Madi Talbert becomes the first Lady Bison to qualify for the NCAA Nationals while Tucker Peabody qualified for the quarterfinal round of the East Region.
The Lipscomb trio of Tucker Peabody, Madi Talbert and Gemikal Prude are in Greensboro, N.C., for the NCAA National Preliminary Round which is set to begin Thursday. The three-day meet concludes Saturday.
Lipscomb junior Tessa Hoefle was named the Atlantic Sun Track and Field Scholar Athlete of the Year on Monday morning while the Lady Bisons dominated with seven members named to the 14 athlete squad.
Three Lipscomb track and field athletes will be competing in the NCAA National Championships Preliminary Round. Junior Tucker Peabody and freshmen Gemikal Prude and Madi Talbert will be competing in the event in Greensboro, N.C., beginning Thursday, May 23.
