Illinois runner plans to be part of Lipscomb track teams

Lipscomb University track and cross country coach Karen Robichaud has announced the signing of Kay West from Wheaton, Ill., to be a member of the Lady Bisons track team.

West, 5-foot-7, was team captain of her track team in 2005 and 2006 at Wheaton North High School. She ran track for four years and cross country for three years. She was an All-District selection in track in 2004.

Her best marks are 15.6 seconds in the 100-meter high hurdles, 48.5 seconds in the 300-meter low hurdles, 62.5 seconds in the 400-meter run and 22:02.0 in the 5-K.

West is also a member of the National Honor Society, the German Honor Society and was a High Honor Roll member. She was also a peer mediator at her school.

West is the daughter of Kathryn and Mark West. She plans to major in dietetics.
