Duerk, Anderson earn All A-Sun honors

Two Lipscomb Lady Bisons earned All-Atlantic Sun honors at the A-Sun Track and Field Championships. Caitlin Anderson earned a third place finish in the women's 3000m steeplechase to earn and Brittany Duerk was third in the javelin.

Elrod has busy first day in A-Sun meet

Lipscomb's Burton Elrod had a busy first day in the A-Sun Track and Field Championships at North Florida as he participated in the decathlon.

Duerk enjoys challenges of the javelin

Brittany Duerk is a sophomore post player for the Lipscomb Lady Bisons basketball team. She enjoys basketball, but she had been missing the opportunity to throw the javelin in track meets. She added the track and field team to her list of activities this spring.

Duerk earns A-Sun weekly track and field award

Lipscomb's Brittany Duerk earned the Atlantic Sun field award as athlete of the week after recapturing the Lady Bisons' javelin record at the Vanderbilt Invitational. Duerk launched a final throw of 134-3 to recapture her school record.

Twigg sets record in 800 meters at VU Invite

The second day of the Vanderbilt Invite Saturday was highlighted by freshman Amanda Twigg's second school record in as many days. Amanda posted a time of 2:14.30 for 800m, surpassing Ruth Mick's 2006 school record of 2:15.20.

More Lipscomb records fall in first day at VU Invite

Brittany Duerk and Taylor Mason finished 1-2 in the women's javelin at the VU Invite Friday. On her last throw Taylor moved to the lead with a toss of 127-5, a new Lipscomb school record. The record lasted about 30 seconds, until Brittany launched her final throw 134-3 to recapture her school record.

Chastain continues record-breaking senior season

Ryan Chastain broke another Lipscomb men's track record Saturday at the TSU Boston-Moon Classic, re-setting his own 1500m school record, moving it from 4:51.14 to 4:48.84, winning the race by almost eight seconds. Chastain has set at least one school record in every indoor and outdoor meet he has participated in this year.

Lipscomb track & field teams compete in two meets

Two members of the Lipscomb Track & Field team competed in the University of Florida Pepsi Relays, while the rest of the team competed at Austin Peay. The Bisons and Lady Bisons found success in both locations.

Chastain sets another track record

Ryan Chastain continued his record breaking senior season for the Bisons by breaking the Outdoor Track school record for 5,000m at the University of Alabama Relays. Sara Stephens broke her own 400m school record with a time of 57.36, while relay records in the women's 4x800, women's DMR, Men's 4x200m, and men's 4x1500m were set.

Lipscomb teams win seven events at APSU meet

The Lipscomb men's and women's track & field teams won a combined seven events at the Austin Peay Spring Fling on Saturday.

Freshman AmandaTwigg earned her first Atlantic Sun weekly award for her two wins last week at the Birmingham Southern Invitational.

Bisons get two wins in 1500 meters at UNF

Though the distance changed from the mile to the 1500m for outdoor track, Ryan Chastain continued his record breaking campaign at the UNF Invite. His winning time of 3:51.54 eclipsed the previous Lipscomb school record of 4:00.44 (Bob Martin, 1977) by nearly nine seconds.

Bisons win 10 medals at A-Sun Championships

With senior Ryan Chastain leading the way eight Lipscomb Bisons and Lady Bisons earned 10 All-A-Sun medals at the Atlantic Sun Indoor Track & Field Championships in Johnson City, Tenn. That is a record number of honors for the program.

The Lipscomb Bisons won their first-ever relay event in the Atlantic Sun Conference Indoor Track and Field Championships with a record-setting performance of 10:05.55 Friday in Johnson City.
