MACON, Ga. – Sophomore Sally Larson earned her first Atlantic Sun Outdoor Track Athlete of the Week honor after a top-notch performance in the Vanderbilt Black and Gold Invite over the weekend.
Larson ran a time of 9:36.39 in the 3000m to finish in third place and break the Lipscomb school record by four seconds. The mark was good enough to place her at number four in the nation in the event.
The Washington native took home an A-Sun Track Athlete of the Week honor during the indoor portion of season, and was also named first team all-conference for cross country in the fall.
Lipscomb Track and Field will continue the outdoor season this weekend for a pair of events: the Big Blue Classic and the Stanford Invite & San Francisco State Distance Carnival.
