MACON, Ga. – For the fourth time in her career and the second time for indoor track and field, Lipscomb sophomore Barbara Lee Ball has been named the Atlantic Sun Runner of the Week, as announced by the league office on Wednesday.
Ball took home the first A-Sun Indoor Track Athlete of the Week honor of 2016 after taking home first place in the 3000m at the Commodore Invite this past weekend.
Her career-best time of 9:46.13 placed her ahead of 31 other participants in the race and seven seconds ahead of the second place finisher.
The sophomore is now ranked first in the conference and in the top 30 in the nation for the 3000m.
The honor was the fourth overall of Ball’s career. She has now won two for indoor track and field and two for cross country.
Ball and the rest of her Lipscomb teammates will be back in action this weekend at the Emory Invite.
