MACON, Ga. – Freshman distance runner Brooke Kingma earned her first career Atlantic Sun Women’s Indoor Track and Field Athlete of the Week award, announced by the league office on Wednesday.
The Mill Creek, Washington native finished eighth overall in the 3000m with a time of 9:47.45.
That time set a new personal record for Kingma and also ranks her second in the A-Sun this year behind teammate Barbara Lee Ball. She joins Ball as the second Lady Bison to earn a weekly honor during the 2016 indoor track season.
The Bisons will return to action this weekend in the Don DeNoon Invitational in Carbondale, Illinois.
