Kingma named A-Sun Indoor Most Outstanding Freshman Performer

MACON, Ga. – Freshman Brooke Kingma has been named the Atlantic Sun Indoor Most Outstanding Freshman Performer as announced by the league offices on Wednesday afternoon.

Kingma shared the award, which was voted on by the league’s coaches, with Jacksonville’s Jacqueline Baldwin.

The freshman finished first in the women’s 5k race with a time of 16:49.71, which is a freshman indoor record for the Bisons.

Kingma also finished fourth in the 3000m run with a mark of 9:55.02.

Earlier during the indoor campaign, Kingma was named the A-Sun Runner of the Week for her performance at the Camel City Invite.
