Talbert nabs 10th career A-Sun weekly honor

MACON, Ga. – For the 10th time in her career and the third time this season, senior Madi Talbert has been named the Atlantic Sun Women’s Track Athlete of the Week, as announced by the league office on Wednesday.

This is Talbert’s fifth track A-Sun weekly honor, matching the number of times the Charlotte native has won for cross country.

Talbert earned this week’s award for a top-notch performance at the nationally-renown Mt. SAC Relays over the weekend. She posted a blistering time of 9:55.79 in the 3000m steeplechase to finish fourth overall and the highest of any collegiate runner at the event.

Talbert’s time now stands as the fourth best time in the NCAA, and has furthered her lead for the event in the A-Sun.

She had won the award twice before this season, with back-to-back wins on March 23 and March 30.
