LakePoint, Ga. – For the first time in her career, junior Kacey Kemper has been named the ASUN Track Athlete of the Week, as announced by the league offices on Wednesday.
Kemper earned the honor after turning in a career-best performance to win the 3000m Steeplechase at the Crimson Tide Invite.
The Washington native finished with a top-notch time of 10:23.22, which beat her personal record by over a minute.
Her time also leads the ASUN field by 18 seconds, ranks seventh in the NCAA East Region, and 18th in the nation.
Kemper and the rest of the Bisons will be splitting up into three meets over the weekend: the Mt. SAC Relays, the Austin Peay Invite, and the Bison Outdoor Classic.
