Brenner earns first ASUN Track Athlete of the Week

LakePoint, Ga. – For the first time in her Bison career, freshman Courtney Brenner has been named the ASUN Outdoor Women's Track Athlete of the Week, as announced by the league offices on Wednesday.

Brenner finished second in the 5000m at the Bison Outdoor Classic, hosted by Bucknell University in Lewisburg, Pennsylvania.

Her second-place time of 16:33.24 dropped 43 seconds off of her previous personal record.

The mark also currently leads the ASUN by more than 30 seconds, ranks 38th in the NCAA East Region, and 82nd in the nation.

Brenner and the Bisons will hit the track again this weekend as they take on the Georgia Tech Invitational and the Virginia Challenge.
