Track and field begins 2018 campaign with Commodore Invite

NASHVILLE – The Lipscomb track and field squad will kick off the 2018 season on Friday as the Bisons head across town to compete in the Commodore Invite at nearby Vanderbilt.

The meet is set to begin on Friday at 4 p.m., and continue through to Saturday beginning again at 10:00 on that morning.

Nearly 500 athletes are set to compete at the Invite, including those from SEC programs Auburn, Florida, and host Vanderbilt. Lipscomb’s Battle of the Boulevard rival Belmont and fellow area schools Trevecca, Austin Peay, Tennessee Tech, and Middle Tennessee are on the meet list as well. 

Lipscomb will be sending a full slate of student-athletes to the meet, including a number of All-Conference performers from last season.

Freshmen expected to potentially make their Bison track and field debut include: Chandler Bergeron, Jada Bogle, Tia Calvin, Elsa Cole, Lauren Flynt, Haley Kling, Pari Manoogian, Lindsay Marriott, Friederike Matthes, Kayla Rudie, Silas Griffith, Michel Hassel, Jonathan Imes, Grant Mason, Kindrick McElmore, Jared Rodriguez, Jonathan Schwind, Patrick Smith, and Jacob Snyder.
