Track and field to compete in crosstown Black and Gold Invite

NASHVILLE – The Lipscomb track and field squad will be competing in Nashville for the only time during their outdoor season over the weekend as the Bisons head across town to Vanderbilt for the Black and Gold Invitational.

The meet is set to kick off at 4 p.m. on Friday afternoon with the hammer throw, and will continue on through Friday night.

On Saturday, the meet will pick back up at 12:00 p.m. with the 4x100m relay before concluding at 4:50 p.m. with the 4x400m relay.

Lipscomb is coming off a strong showing in their first meet of the outdoor season last weekend at the Rhodes Invite.

The Bisons earned several top-10 finishes and Wayne Newman was named the ASUN Track Athlete of the Week for the 10th time in his career and an ASUN-record tying seventh time in his outdoor career.
