Flynt, Johnson, Kling earn wins for track and field at Berry Field Day

ROME, Ga. – The Lipscomb track and field squad competed at the 2019 Berry Field Day Invitational over the weekend.

Sophomores Haley Kling and Lauren Flynt grabbed a pair of wins for the Bisons, as did senior Kyle Johnson.

Kling won the 800m in 2:19.05. Sophomore Grace Lahey (2:20.36) finished third and Flynt (2:25.02) grabbed seventh.

Flynt won the 1500m in 4:40.04 with Lipscomb sweeping the top five: Kling (4:42.23) in second, Lahey (4:44.81) in third, senior Hannah Owens (4:46.13) in fourth, sophomore Kayla Rudie (4:46.78) in fifth, and junior Grace Oetting (4:48.20) in seventh.

Johnson earned the win in the men’s 1500m with a time of 3:59.33. Junior Brody Beiler placed ninth in 4:09.30.

Freshman Hanna Anderson – 4th – 400m – 59.22 seconds

Freshman Taylor Edmundson – 5th – 400m hurdles – 1:04.83

Freshman Ayse Allison – 3rd – 3000m steeplechase – 12:23.23

Sophomore Pari Manoogian – 4th – 3000m steeplechase – 12:24.95

Freshman Demontae Wilson – 5th – 400m – 50.39 seconds

Junior Randolph Wilkerson – 5th – 110m hurdles – 16.19 seconds

Wilkerson – 2nd – 400m hurdles – 55.40 seconds

Junior Brandon Belloni – 6th – long jump – 6.30m

Sophomore Kindrick McLemore – 6th – hammer throw – 38.87m


Lipscomb finished fifth on the women’s side with 76 total points, while the men placed in ninth with 36.


NEXT UP: The Mt. Sac Relays and the Georgia Tech Invitational will take place next weekend for the Purple and Gold.
