Bisons swept by Ole Miss
The Lipscomb Bisons managed a run in the ninth inning, but it wasn't enough.

The Bisons lost 5-1 Sunday afternoon to the Ole Miss Rebels at Oxford-University Park. Ole Miss swept the series 3-0. Each team had eight hits in the game.

Right-hander Dannie Strable, 2-2, started for the Bisons. He pitched 4.1 innings and scattered four hits. He allowed four runs, all unearned as a pair of errors proved costly to the Bisons.

Strable struck out one batter and walked three.

Ole Miss scored three runs in the third, one in the fourth and one in the eighth.

Gil Rehwinkel, Davey Hackett, Blake Fonfara, Josh Cotham and Alex Ross all pitched in relief for the Bisons.

Richie Goodenow and Diego Martinez led the Bisons with two hits each. It was the first multi-hit game of the season for Martinez. One of the hits for Martinez was his first double of the season.

The Bisons fell to 7-9. Ole Miss is 13-4.

The Bisons will return to play against a Southeastern Conference team Wednesday when Mississippi State visits Ken Dugan Field at Stephen Lee Marsh Stadium at 6 p.m.
