Second round struggles leave uphill battle for Bisons golf

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - At the end of the first day and 36 holes, the Lipscomb men’s golf team is in 14th place at the Eagle/Osprey Intercollegiate in Jacksonville, Fla.

The Bisons were in 11th place after the first round but a 313 on the second time through Deerwood Country Club dropped Lipscomb to a 617 total.

Lipscomb is led by Mikey Feher who is in 43rd place. Feher fired a 75 on the first 18 holes and a 78 on the next 18 for a 153 total.

Caston Roberts and Dowling Armstrong are just behind Feher with a 154. Both are in a tie for 51st. Roberts posted rounds of 74 and 80. Armstrong shot identical rounds of 77.

Paul Klein-Kracht fired a pair of 78s and is tied for 61st with a two-round total of 156. After shooting a 79 in the first round, Sydney Chung came back with an 80 in the second. Chung stands in a tie for 79th with a total of 159.

The Bisons return to the course on Tuesday to finish out the 54-hole tournament.

No. 18 Vanderbilt leads the intercollegiate by seven strokes after firing a 583 (292-291).

Individually Trey Rule of Mercer leads after shooting a 67 in round one and 75 in round two.
