Armstrong leads, men's golf in second at A-Sun Tourney

BRASELTON, Ga. – Mother Nature stopped play in the 2015 Atlantic Sun Conference men’s golf championship on Monday before the first round was completed but Lipscomb freshman Dawson Armstrong found himself atop the leaderboard at three under with one hole remaining at the Legends Course at Chateau Elan.

Before the severe weather including hail and tornado warnings sat in for the afternoon, Armstrong and his teammates were tied for second with USC Upstate at +8 and only two strokes back of leader Kennesaw State.

Armstrong was the only Bison to not complete the opening round as sophomore Stoney Crouch carded a +2, 72 just one stroke ahead of freshman Eric Ansett, who sits at +3.  Seniors Tyler Leroy and Caston Roberts finished round one +6 and +12, respectively.

The championship will resume on Tuesday morning at 7:30 a.m. with teams completing the first round before attempting to finish out the 54-hole event with the final two rounds of 18.
