NASHVILLE - The Lipscomb men's golf team is set for its penultimate tournament of the fall season at the Autotrader Collegiate Classic hosted by Georgia State on Oct. 14-15.
The tournament will be held at the Berkeley Hills Country Club located in Duluth, Ga. on a par-72 course that runs 6,694 yards and will host 14 total teams.
The Bisons will tee-off on Monday with the first and second rounds and play 36-holes, followed by a final round of 18-holes on Tuesday.
Lipscomb has had successful showings in the Autotrader Collegiate Classic's past. Back in 2015, the Purple and Golf won the team title with a 54-hole total of 839, eight strokes better than runner-up South Florida (847). Dawson Armstrong won the individual title by eight strokes at 200 by firing rounds of 65-67-68 to pace the Bisons.
As for more recent successes, Lipscomb tied for third (295-293=588) in its last outing at the Intercollegaite at The Grove last week. Nolan Ray continued his hot start to the season and finished tied for second at 140 (70-70). Ray has finished all three tournaments the Bisons have participated in inside the top-10, with this being his second top-5 finish.
Redshirt senior Connor McKay also had a nice showing at the Intercollegiate at The Grove with a top-15 performance. The Knoxville, Tenn. native finished T13th at 145 (73-72).
