Lipscomb struck first for the 26th time this season on a double down the third base line by Trace Willhoite to score Caleb Ketchup, who doubled to center field.Â
After the Bisons forced three scoreless innings, the Owls sent a solo homer to left field which tied things up in the fourth. Fortunately, Lipscomb was able to regained the lead in the bottom half on a sacrifice bunt with two runners in scoring position by Jake Berg for a 2-1 advantage, a lead they'd hold for the rest of the contest.
Both starters threw well to keep their teams in it. The Owls pitcher threw seven innings and allowed five hits and two runs, but Van Treeck went the distance for the seoncd time this season and guided the Bisons to a 2-1 win in the series-opening game over Kennesaw State.
