Baseball Falls to Wildcats in Series Finale

LEXINGTON, Ky. - Lipscomb baseball fell to Kentucky in Sunday's series finale and was swept for the first time in the 2024 season.

The Wildcats struck first in the second, scoring on a double through the left side to go up 1-0. Kentucky plated another in their next at-bat with another double, this time to left field to go up 2-0.

With no outs, the Wildcats added their third run of the game in the third frame after a bases-loaded double play allowed the runner from third to cross home plate safely, despite two outs earned for the Bisons on the play.

After the Wildcats scored another in the fourth, Will Lee put the Bisons on the board for the first time with a solo home run to the right field in the top of the fifth.

However, one run wasn't enough as the Wildcats scored a run in the sixth and erupted for four runs in the seventh to take a 9-1 lead.

Lipscomb scored none in the final two frames despite blanking the Wildcats in the last two innings, resulting in a 9-1 decision in Sunday's series finale.
