Softball falls to No. 18 Kentucky at Frost Classic

CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. - Two home runs made the difference as the Lipscomb softball team lost 4-0 Friday in the first day of the Frost Classic to No.18-ranked Kentucky.

Tanner Sanders went the distance for the Lady Bisons and falls to 2-3. She also allowed two singles. She walked two, struck out seven and hit two  batters.

It was the first time this season Lipscomb has not had a hit. It was also the first shutout of the season. Erin Rethlake, 1-1, struck out 14

Kentucky is 10-2. Lipscomb is 4-6.

The Lady Bisons are back in action at 3 against Northern Kentucky. It will be Lipscomb's third straight game against a team from Kentucky.

Brittany  Elmore failed to get a hit in a game for the first time this season.  She ends her hitting streak at nine games.

Gibson stole two bases.

Freshman Malorie Giere and senior Dee Baddley made their first plate appearances of the season.
