Sanders pitches softball to win against Louisville

NASHVILLE, Tenn. – The Lipscomb softball team opened the home portion of the schedule with a 2-1 win over Louisville at Draper Diamond at Smith Stadium Wednesday afternoon.

It is the fifth win in a row for the Lady Bisons, 9-6, who extended their win streak to five games. Louisville is 10-5.

The nightcap is underway.

The Lady Bisons scored one run in the first and another in the third.

Lipscomb was led by Brittany Elmore and Sarah Higgins with two hits each. The Lady Bisons finished with seven hits, all singles.

Elmore stole two bases and has 10 for the season. Destinee Brewer recorded one steal.

Right-hander Tanner Sanders, 5-3, struck out six and did not walk a batter. She allowed only four hits, two for doubles. She threw a shutout game until sixth inning.
