Final Stats

The Lady Bisons won their sixth straight match with a 3-1 win at Atlantic Sun opponent Jacksonville.

The loss ended a seven-match winning streak for Jacksonville, the top team in the conference. The Lady Bisons won game won 30-19 and game two 30-25. Jacksonville prevented the sweep with a 30-28 win in game three. The Lady Bisons came back in game four to take a 30-21 decision Saturday afternoon.

"We played a tough team,' Lipscomb coach Brandon Rosenthal said. "I was pleased with how we controlled the match. We played well within ourselves. We made plays when we needed to make them.

"What we have been trying to do all year is to get into a system we feel comfortable with. It's hard to go on the road no matter who you are playing. To be playing the top team in the conference added a little more pressure."

Lipscomb junior outside hitter Sarah Snider made a match-high 29 kills. She also added 10 digs. It was the 15th match high in kills for Snider this season and her 18th match to finish in double figures.

Senior outside hitter Jessica Enderle and freshman middle blocker Alex Kelly each added 13 kills. Both have finished in double figures in kills in their last six matches.

Kelly also finished with a .375 hitting percentage.

Senior libero Ann Mullins made a match-high 33 digs. Also in double figures in digs were junior defensive specialist Jessica Turner with 15 and freshman setter Stefine Pease and senior defensive specialist Grace Gilmore with 11 each.

"Ann anchored the defense," Rosenthal said. "We did a great job defensively, out digging Jacksonville by 25."

One area that surprised Rosenthal was blocks. The Lady Bisons made eight and 18 assists.

"That was something we didn't anticipate," Rosenthal said. "Jacksonville is such a tall team. That's huge that we were able to post those numbers."

The Lady Bisons also made 10 service aces. Pease made four and Alex Scruggs added three.

Melissa Merchant led Jacksonville with 12 kills. Michelle Walroth posted 17 digs.

The Lady Bisons move to 12-9 overall, 5-2 in the A-Sun. Jacksonville slips to 12-10, 6-2 in the conference.
