Lady Bisons, Bisons Each Finish 8th in Belmont Invitational

Lipscomb's Bisons and Lady Bisons cross country teams each finished eighth in the Belmont Invitational, the opening meet of the season at Nashville's Percy Warner Park.

Ruth Mick finished 31st to lead the Lady Bisons in the 13-team field. Mick's time was 15:35.37 on the four-kilometer course. Samantha Wood was 41st with a time of 15:47.65. Rounding out the finishers for the Lady Bisons were Susan Worden (15:58.10), Tonya Lumphrey (16:17.57), Deanna Edwards (16:23.97), Elizabeth Schall (16:28.27), Candice Cox (16:44.41) and Amanda Wright (17:23.32).

There were 12 teams competing in the men's 5-K run. Leading the Bisons was Weldon Ehlert in 18th place with a 15:49.61. Rounding out the field for the Bisons were Eric Brown (16:45.95), Kevin Green (16:53.62), Daniel Pelletier (17:03.40), Caleb Key (17:07.32), Naeem Thompson (18:18.11) and Matt McWhirter (18:25.80).
