Cross country's Montgomery to be featured on ESPN's

NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Lipscomb cross country’s Kayla Montgomery will be featured on ESPN’s weekly segment “E:60” Tuesday at 7 p.m. central on ESPN.

The feature will profile Montgomery’s fight to continue running cross country despite being diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis.

Montgomery has already proven to be an asset to the squad recording strong finishes in her first season. She placed 18th in a field of 260 runners at the Vanderbilt Invite on Sept. 13 clocking in at 17:34.8 to secure a fourth place overall finish for the team. Her time ranked her No. 3 all-time on the team’s home course, Vaughn’s Gap.

Bill Taylor, director of cross country at Lipscomb, recruited Montgomery earlier this year knowing her drive and passion would play a large role in propelling the program to new heights.
