Terry and Peabody earn A-Sun accolades

MACON, Ga. – The Atlantic Sun Conference has announced April Terry and Tucker Peabody as this week’s Track and Field Athletes of the Week.

Terry, a native of Little Rock, Ark., collected her third outdoor field athlete of the week and second this year. She finished first, second and fourth at the Boston-Moon Classic in Nashville last Saturday. The gold medal came in the hammer throw with a toss of 45.33 meters. Terry claimed second in the shot put and fourth in the discus.

Peabody, a native of Memphis, Tenn., claimed his second-straight award. Peabody finished second in the 200-meter dash at the Ole Miss Invite. His finishing time of 21.04 seconds lowered the school-record and improved his A-Sun leading time in the event.

Peabody ranks 45th in the nation in the 200-meter dash and 23rd in the East Region. The top-48 declared at the end of the year move on to the NCAA National Preliminary Round.

Lipscomb has won the weekly honor five times for the women and three times for the men.

The Purple and Gold returns to action on Friday at the Vanderbilt Invite.
