Track and field set for Virginia Challenge, Georgia Tech Invite

NASHVILLE – The Lipscomb track and field squad is set to take on a pair of meets again this weekend as the Bisons split up for another pair meets.

Both the Georgia Tech Invite and the Virginia Challenge will get started at 11 a.m. on Friday.

The action will pick back up at the same time on Saturday at Georgia Tech, while Virginia will start at 10:30 on Saturday morning.

At Georgia Tech, the competition will include Battle of the Boulevard rival Belmont, East Tennessee State, Tennessee State, USC Upstate, North Florida, Austin Peay, Rhode Island, Murray State, St. John’s, Samford, and Emory among others.

In Virginia, the Bisons will be taking on Pittsburgh, N.C. State, Syracuse, VCU, Georgetown, Columbia, Marshall, Navy, North Carolina, Kennesaw State, Illinois State, Dartmouth, Tennessee, West Virginia, Penn State, Notre Dame, Wake Forest, Yale, and several others.

Senior Avery Franklin is looking to build on her first-ever ASUN Track Athlete of the Week award after her performance in the 10,000m at the Bison Outdoor Classic last weekend.
