Former Lipscomb standout Rex Brothers was traded on Wednesday from the Colorado Rockies to the Chicago Cubs for prospect Wander Cabrera. Brothers posted a 16-11 record with a 3.42 ERA in five seasons with Colorado.

Lipscomb baseball head coach Jeff Forehand announced the addition of six players to the Bisons 2016 recruiting class who signed National Letters of Intent Wednesday. Forehand and his staff, who have signed 27 players in the last three years, bolstered their roster with the addition of two pitchers and four positional players.

Mother Nature finally cooperated with the Lipscomb baseball team on Thursday afternoon after three consecutive wet days in Nashville. Head Coach Jeff Forehand and his team were able to start their annual Purple and Gold World Series. The Purple squad came away with a 7-3 win.
