The Lipscomb baseball team got behind early and could never catch up as it dropped the rubber match of a three-game Atlantic Sun Conference series 12-5 to Kennesaw State Sunday afternoon at Ken Dugan Field. Adam Lee launched his team-leading fifth home run to lead off the ninth.
Twice in the late innings Lipscomb had runners at second and third with the opportunity to knot the game, but both times a groundball out killed any momentum the Bisons were building. Junior Chucky Vazquez smashed a leadoff home run in the ninth trying to get Lipscomb back in it.
Freshman Michael Gigliotti went 3-for-3 with two runs scored and senior Josh Lee laced a 10th inning double to score Tyson Ashcraft as the Bisons took a 4-3 A-Sun win over Kennesaw State on Friday night.
Looking to add some depth behind the plate, Lipscomb baseball skipper Jeff Forehand has announced the signing of catcher Justin Wilson for the 2016 season. Wilson hit .385 as a junior at Oakland High School and earned Perfect Game All-American Honorable Mention honors for his efforts.
The Lipscomb baseball team will return home this weekend to put its longest win streak of the season on the line in a three-game Atlantic Sun Conference series with Kennesaw State at Ken Dugan Field at Stephen L. Marsh Stadium. Friday's first pitch is set for 6 p.m.
