The Lipscomb baseball team wrapped up its 2014 Omaha Challenge by naming Dalton Curtis (left) the top pitcher with 490 points, while Lee Solomon (right) and Jonathan Allison (not pictured) were crowned overall co-champions with 531 points each.
It all comes down to Thursday, the final day of competition, to see who gets crowned the 2014 Lipscomb Baseball Omaha Challenge champions. Lee Solomon and Dalton Curtis currently hold a slight lead in their respective groups, while it is Team Hoss holding steady for the team lead.
The Lipscomb baseball team started its annual Omaha Challenge challenge last week with the players competing against one another for the right to be crowned champion. The event consists of 20 individual events and eight team events. There will be two individual winners – one pitcher and one position player.
For the second consecutive season the Lipscomb baseball team is soaring to new heights with a back-to-back top-100 signing class as head coach Jeff Forehand has added 10 players to the 2016 roster in the early signing period. The class ranks 61st by PerfectGame.org.
The Lipscomb baseball team will venture on its first-ever mission trip December 12-19. The group will be traveling to the Dominican Republic where they will refurbish a sandlot baseball field while also spreading the word of God.
